Spring Select

The Spring Select program, is an approximately 6-8 week  competitive program for the 8U and older divisions that is intended to prepare our players to potentially participate in the All Stars program.  The Spring Select program is NOT a requirement for All Stars and participation in the Spring Select program does not guarantee a spot on the All Stars team.

The Spring Select program is in ADDITION to the Spring Season play and Select teams will play doubleheaders on Sundays against other competitive teams throughout the Orange County area. In addition, there may be one or two tournaments scheduled. Players do not need to be present for every weekend, but they do need to give the coach notice when they will not be available.

Similar to Fall Select, the Spring Select team will be "selected" by the Coaches, and not all players may be chosen to participate. There is also no guarantee for playing time or positions.

Costs: There will be an additional cost to participate in the Select program, estimated around $100 per player to pay for the Select jersey, umpires and tournaments.

Registration for Select will be available once coaches have chosen their teams. Meanwhile, you can indicate your interest for playing Select during the Recreational registration process.

USA Softball Select Program Description

The Select Program was established to provide an additional opportunity for players who wish to improve their softball skills beyond the regular league season.  This program is for 8U and older players who wish to improve their softball skills and thereby benefit themselves as well as their league. 

Select Player Eligibility

  • Select players must be individually registered with a recreational league.
  • Select players must be drafted onto an active recreational league team roster in the current season.
  • Select players must play in a minimum of 75% of the leagues scheduled games during the current season.

Select Team Eligibility

  • The team roster may include up to 20 players.
  • Participation is limited to one day per week.
  • Select teams may not have more than four players who have participated on a travel type team after (date TBD) of the current season.
  • Select teams shall be comprised of players from a single Recreational league.
  • Select teams must be approved by the league Board of Directors.
